The history of PUMA’s craftsmanship began in 1769 when Johann Wilhelm Lauterjung registered his trademark in the Messermacherrolle. However, the tradition of the manufacturer extends even further back, to a time when numerous grinding centers, known as Kotten, lined the Wupper River. These centers utilized natural sand and were powered by hydroelectric energy.
