Introducing the Johan Marais range of snake tongs – the new and improved design of our best-selling PRO Snake Handling Tongs.
The JM150 Snake Tong is our most popular model for both discerning corporate and private clients. This tong is ideal for removing problem snakes, especially on mines, game farms, and game lodges. The extra 50 cm (compared with the JM100) keeps the snake further away from the handler, enhancing safety.
Based on our best-selling PRO series, the JM tongs feature important modifications that have been extensively tried and tested. We have extended the upper jaw of the JM tongs so that the overbite extends 3.4 cm, improving functionality. In most snake tongs, the overbite only extends around 1.5 cm, or less in cheaper imports.
We’ve also decreased the gap between the upper and lower parts of the jaw when the tongs are closed to no larger than 1–2 mm. This ensures the two sections nearly touch, preventing the snake from being pinched and allowing for the capture of small snakes. Additionally, we’ve added a double crimp to the steel cable.
