This kit includes our new PDS camera BackPlates, allowing use with the Hero 7/6/5 Black camera or the H4/3+/3 with the slimline waterproof housing. The PDS (Professional Dome System) has been developed over two years, incorporating features for an unrivaled Dome System that is affordable, easy to use, and offers industry-leading optics.
With this Dome Housing, capturing elusive under-over shots, also known as 50/50 or split shots, is easier than ever. The GDome Housing uses a 160mm Dome, pushing the waterline away from the lens to create a space that allows for effortless split waterline captures. Utilizing your GoPro’s wide-angle lens and near-infinite depth of field makes obtaining high-quality video and stills much simpler compared to complex $2000 DSLR setups.
The spacing improves water shots above the surface, as spray or drops that would cover the lens become minor dots in the field of view. The gap between the lens and dome moves water particles further from the camera lens, resulting in cleaner underwater images and an improved field of view.
The GDome system employs unique O-Ring compression seals between the Dome and BackPlate and around the camera lens, without using silicone or glue. Each Dome is pressure tested to the relevant housing/camera’s max depth before leaving the factory, ensuring no leaks.
Enjoy sharper, cleaner GoPro images at depths other domes can’t reach. The PDS consists of detachable parts, allowing easy servicing, spare parts purchase, and dome Housing upgrades.
