The FDF Sleeping Pad is a clever combination of a ground sheet and a regular sleeping pad, originally developed for the Finnish Defence Forces in the 1980s. This piece of sleeping gear offers additional insulation and protection, enhancing comfort in snowy and challenging terrains.

- Integrated Elastic Webbing Loops: These loops provide a simple and effective way to keep the pad rolled during transport and storage.
- Closed Cell Foam Core: At its core, this is a simple piece of closed cell foam, similar to any standard sleeping pad.
- Lightweight, Waterproof Cover: The cover protects the foam from punctures, tears, and abrasion, while also adding insulation by trapping air.
- Personal Groundsheet: The cover extends 25 cm on both sides, offering a 100 cm wide clean surface.
- Non-Slip Surface: One side features a rubber-coated fabric, providing a non-slip surface to keep the pad or your sleeping bag in place.
Usage Tips:
- The Finnish Defence Forces recommend using the pad with the rubberized fabric facing up, against your sleeping bag. However, it can be used either way, depending on personal preference.
