Over a century ago, Mauser crafted barreled bolt-actions for us, which were then assembled, finished, and proofed by Rigby craftsmen in London. Today, we have revived this historic collaboration with Mauser for our new range of Big Game rifles. These rifles are aspirational yet affordable, designed for use worldwide.
At Mauser’s plant in Isny, the original Magnum bolt action, first created in 1899 specifically for John Rigby, is being built once more. Barrelled actions are supplied by Mauser and then assembled into superb hand-finished rifles by master craftsmen at the Rigby workshop in London. Like the originals, these rifles carry London proof marks.
Many features of the original rifle, including the admired and copied extractor and the three-position flag safety, have been retained. The Big Game is available on a single or double square bridge action, offering hunters a moderately priced alternative to our London Best custom rifles. Designed as the perfect tool for the professional hunter, the PH boasts the classic lines and rock-solid engineering of the original Big Game rifle.
