Description
The Ruger® AR-556 features a Ruger® Rapid Deploy folding rear sight with windage adjustability, paired with an A2-style, F-height, elevation-adjustable front sight for a reliable aiming system.
Constructed from 7075-T6 hard-coat anodized aluminum forgings, it includes a shot-peened and proof-tested 9310 steel bolt and an 8620 steel bolt carrier. The carrier and gas key’s inside diameter are chrome plated, with the key staked for longevity.
The barrel nut and delta ring facilitate easy, one-person service of the heat-resistant glass-filled nylon handguard, compatible with most standard carbine-length handguards. The barrel nut uses a standard wrench.
The gas block is positioned at a carbine-length (M4) for improved balance and handling, with multiple attachment points including a QD socket and bayonet lug for various sling and accessory options. Serrations on the gas block’s angled face provide a low-glare surface.
Handguards are crafted from heat-resistant glass-filled nylon for comfort and durability. The single-stage trigger offers durable and reliable fire control, with an enlarged trigger guard for gloved shooting in cold weather.
The six-position, telescoping, M4-style buttstock and Mil-Spec buffer tube allow for proper sizing for different shooters or varying levels of outerwear.
Equipped with a medium contour, cold hammer-forged alloy barrel with 1:8″ twist rifling, it delivers exceptional accuracy with bullets from 35 to 77 grains. M4 feed ramps and a 5.56 NATO chamber accommodate both 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem. ammunition. The barrel and 1/2″-28 Ruger® flash suppressor feature a matte black oxide finish for reduced glare and corrosion resistance.
The front sight post is elevation adjustable, with a front sight tool included. The A2-style, F-height front sight allows co-witness with many optics. The ergonomic pistol grip features an extended trigger reach for precise control.
Made from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum forging, the flat top upper receiver includes a forward assist, dust cover, and brass deflector. Also included is one 30-round Magpul® PMAG® magazine.
