Description
The N°06 is the smallest Opinel knife equipped with the Virobloc double safety ring, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sports. It’s also practical and efficient for daily manual work, such as small crafts and sewing. Its size is particularly suited to smaller hands.
Sandvik Stainless Steel
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel, which is anti-corrosive due to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% ensures an excellent cutting edge.
Yatagan Blade
The classic Opinel blade features a Yatagan shape, inspired by a traditional Turkish saber with an upturned toe. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile that ensures strength and allows efficient regrinding.
Handle
Beech wood, commonly used for Opinel handles, is sourced from France. It is hard, durable, and easy to work with. The wood has a homogeneous appearance, with a light color ranging from yellow to pink, characterized by numerous small dark dashes.
Safety Ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N°06. Made from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections: one fixed and one sliding. It locks the blade open for safety in use and closed for safety in transport.
